What I did:
I spent most of the day getting ready for my little one's birthday celebration. Shelli came over and we went shopping and decorated. My friend, Dawn, came in from Maine and we also had a few kids here, as well. Though it turned out to be quite a mess to clean up, seeing the children and parents laughing and having a great time was worth it!
What I learned:
Some of the best memories are made when we share them with others! My daughter said, "Mom, this was the best birthday I ever had!". Considering it was only her fifth, I still knew where she was coming from. There's nothing like joining with others in celebration!
I heard a Christian speaker saying that the Children of Israel used to celebrate and have festivals often as a reminder of God's presence and provision. She said we as Christians, would do well to celebrate more. I think she's right!
