6 Days to Go

Well, today I came up with some more ideas for my experiment in doing the right thing. One obstacle I really need to overcome in order to truly be able to succeed is my lack of time management. I am writing this at 9:45 pm, dead tired, with not much time left before bed. I have a real issue with prioritizing, as is evident in this late post. I did try to tell myself that I could just make up for missing today's post by posting more tomorrow, but this is just the sort of thing I really want to make a change in. If I say I'm going to do something, I need to follow through. I guess the lesson learned today is that I need to take better care of the hours in my day so I'm not cramming everything in at the last minute, or worse, not even attempting to do what I set out to accomplish.

So the successes for today are a mixed bag. While I didn't manage my time well (boo!), I did actually sit down to write today's entry anyway (yay!). I reached today's goal!

Now, tomorrow, I will plan to sit down by 9:30 a.m. to write down more of my game plan. It's time to be more concrete instead of just "winging it" on Monday. I really have to come up with some ideas about the kids. The first is how to etch out the uninterrupted time I need in order to write. The second thing I am presently stumped about is how to get the kids on board with my plans to have the day run more smoothly, including a more organized household. It's fine when they're little, but when they're 16 and 19, I need to go back to the drawing board and try to teach some teenage dogs some new tricks. If I could go back to tell the Elizabeth in her 20's that she isn't going to do her kids any favors by constantly picking up after them, it would save me a lot of headaches at this juncture.

Until tomorrow~~~Elizabeth
